It appears the Lakers have waived the white flag on the 2018-19 NBA season.

Per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Lakers Forward LeBron James will be placed on a minutes restriction and will not play in back-to-backs for the remainder of the season.

Per Haynes, James will play 28-32 minutes a night and could sit out either end of back-to-backs.

The Lakers have 17 games and 3 back-to-backs remaining on the season.

James, who just passed Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring list Wednesday night, missed 17 games earlier this year with a groin injury.

The Lakers currently sit at 30-35, tied for 11th in the Western Conference.

James, in his 16th season, is averaging 35.6 minutes per game, along with 27 points, 8 assists and nearly 9 rebounds in 47 games this season.
