Houstros Astros star 3B Alex Bregman and his agency Klutch Sports no longer have a working relationship.
Bregman apparently ended his relationship with the agency because of wait for it…LeBron James?!?
The 2019’s AL MVP runner-up was represented by Brodie Scoffield who is an agent in the baseball arm of Klutch Sports. Their working relationship has ended due to Bregman learning of LeBron James’s media platform, Uninterrupted, signing on to help produce a documentary about the Astros sign-stealing scandal.
This according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.
The production of the film was said to be an overriding factor in Bregman’s decision to end his relationship with the agency although the agency and James’ media platform are two separate entities.
James was critical of the Astros in February over the sign-stealing scandal and made scathing remarks to MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred via social media regarding the scandal.
For Bregman this adds yet another layer to what has been a tumultuous off season for him and his teammates after public criticisms over his apology during spring training.
Bregman now awaits the return of baseball and it appears he will be doing so with a new agent.
