Another day, another piece of news regarding Dak Prescott’s contract.
According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Cowboys latest offer to franchise quarterback Dak Prescott would make him the second highest paid quarterback in the NFL based on APY (Average Per Year).
Just for the record, Russell Wilson ($35 million APY) leads the NFL in that category. Prescott’s guaranteed money would be on par with that of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff at $110 million.
Prescott is rumored to want a 4-yr deal, while the Cowboys are looking for a 5-yr deal.
Both sides having an understanding of the exploding cap coming in the next few years and both want to control what that financial future looks like.
In a media news cycle were there is little news to grab on to, Prescott’s contract has been analyzed at nausea making plenty of folks weary and fatigued at this point over the discussion.
Prescott is the most polarizing player among the Cowboys fan base and this latest piece of news will do nothing but make the conversation around his contract even louder.
