It looks like the Ben DiNucci Era is over for the Dallas Cowboys after just one week.
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Cowboys will have Garrett Gilbert and Cooper Rush split reps in practice this week and will then choose a starter by week’s end to start against the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 7th round draft pick, DiNucci, had a rough first start against the Eagles last Sunday night throwing for just 180 yards and losing two fumbles.
The Cowboys have been ravaged at the quarterback position this season as Dak Prescott was lost for the season with an ankle injury and backup Andy Dalton suffered a concussion and now has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 List.
It is now up to offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and head coach Mike McCarthy to evaluate between two journeymen, Gilbert and Rush, who will be the quarterback against the Steelers who lead the NFL in sacks with 30.
The Cowboys host the 7-0 Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
